Martin Chan has been in private, specialist practice since 1997 and receives patient referrals from general dentists and other dental specialists across the Yorkshire region and beyond. The practice is based at the Yorkshire Clinic in Bingley, which is one of the region's leading independent hospitals.

Dr Chan graduated from the University of London in 1984 and gained general experience in the UK and overseas. He then underwent an exhaustive programme of postgraduate education and specialist training (accredited by the Royal Colleges of Surgeons) between 1989 – 1997. He gained registration on the GDC Specialist lists in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Endodontics. He was appointed as Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Leeds Dental Institute (Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) in 1997 and is lead clinician for dental implants. He has written numerous publications, is very active in postgraduate teaching and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.
